Located along the Savannah River and 71,000 acres of Clarks Hill Lake, Robert E. Knox Scout Reservation offers a one-of-a-kind camping experience on 535 acres. Its seven miles of shoreline distinguish it from other camps in the region. It is for this reason and others — a temperate climate with cool nights, an exceptional staff, and innovative programs — that Knox is a destination for so many Troops, Crews, and Ships.

Rifle, shotgun, archery, cowboy action, and BSA pistol — one of the strongest programs in the Southeast.
Jimmy Dyess First Year Program
The Dyess First-Year Scout Program is designed to give new Scouts a strong foundation for their journey in Scouting. Participants work on requirements from Scout through First Class, completing nearly all rank requirements that can reasonably be accomplished during summer camp. Scouts will also work toward and earn the First Aid Merit Badge as part of the program.
Scout Craft Program
The Knox Scout Craft program is at the heart of Scouting. Its Scout-skill-packed merit badge sessions are sure to appeal to the outdoorsman. Scouts will learn critical skills in camping, cooking, navigation, pioneering, and survival.
Ecology Program
The Knox Ecology program is designed to instill a deep appreciation for the environment and prepare Scouts to be proactive stewards of the earth. This program operates on a field-based, experiential learning philosophy. Rather than sitting in traditional classrooms, youth learn through interactive hikes, field experiments, and hands-on conservation work
Handicraft Program
The Knox Handicraft program focuses on introducing youth to traditional crafts and helping them to develop self-expression. It is a high energy hands on program where Scouts create tangible projects they can take home.
Trail to Eagle
The KSR Trail to Eagle program focuses on Eagle Required Merit Badges to help the Scout who aims high to progress along their Eagle Scout Trail.
Field Sports
The KSR field sports program area offers high-energy athletic, team building and physically active merit badge programs.
High Adventure
The Knox Island Odyssey sends older Scouts off the mainland and into a multi-day high-adventure experience across the islands of Robert E. Knox Scout Reservation.
Special Programs
KSR offers a wide variety of special non-merit badge programs and afternoon adventures, because we all know while we love our merit badges, we want to have FUN.
At KSR, the Scouts are not the only ones who get to have fun at Summer Camp. We have plenty of adult activities to include all you oldies but goodies in our festivities!
