Comp & Benefits – Dr. Steven Flynt

Committee will meet in February.

 

Insurance – Vacant

Working to find a new insurance carrier who will cover required Auto Insurance policy.

Marketing – Vacant-Rebecca Stiles

Will begin a new video series of 17-24 year old Scouts and Scout Moms. Also focused on improving social media reach.  

Nominating – Keith Milburn

Nominating committee is meeting working to identify prospective board members. Please share any ideas with Keith or Dan.

Properties – Randy Watkins

Dining Hall project is complete. Working on additional Knox improvements including Ecology Lodge, Pistol Range, Aquatcis Upgrades and new Adirondak Shelters. Working to sell Camp Daniel Marshall.

 

Risk Management – Ron Pflieger

Strategic Plan – Doug Welch

Have completed small group input sessions. Plan to provide rough draft to Executive Committee in December, Full plan for approval at Annual Business Meeting in January.

Council has had a rough year in 2023 in revenue with income shortages in FOS, Foundations, United Way, Store Revenue, Product Sales and camping revenue.

 

Audit – Michael Harley

2022 Audit is completed with a clean, unqualified audit.

 

Endowment Management – Scott Edwards

Endowment at $968,492. Market has been very bad in 2023. We have one open position on the Endowment Trustee Board to fill a five year term for 2024-2028.

Kicking off the 2024 Fundraising campaign. Camp Cards are being developed.

FOS Dinner – Elizabeth Donsbach

Event set for January 25 at The Richmond on Greene. Will Morris will be honoree.

Sporting Clay – Vacant

Looking for committee members to help with this event in 2024.

Golf Tournament – Vacant

Will run two tournaments in 2024, one in March at Applewood, one in September at Belle Meade.  

Product Sales – Ryan Merideth

2023 Popcorn sale was down about 25%. Exploring additional fall product sale opportunities.  Adventure Card will have a new look, working to register units to sell.

Capital Campaign – Vacant

Working with Properties Committee to build fund additional capital projects.

We have an exciting line-up of activities set for 2024. We plan to market these events much more aggressively to increase attendance.

2023 Fall Camporee was good with 9 Troops and about 110 in attendance.

Campmaster Corps – Vacant

Now that the Sewell Center is renovated, we will start the Camp Master program again. Training is set for December 2nd at 9AM.

 

Cub Scouts – Vacant

Working on 2024 Cub Fun Day. 2023 Spookoree and Webelosree were both very good events with over 800 at Spookoree and about 150 at Webelosree.

 

Aquatics – Jsaon Tisdale

 

Working with John Deere to complete the Aquatics site renovations to provide a better beach and program area.

 

Council Banquet / Centennial Gala – Vacant

Scheduled to be held in March 2024. Presentations will include Outstanding Eagle Scout Award, and the Silver Beaver Court of Honor.

 

Camping – Jeremy Culler

Knox Sumer camp is shaping up very well. Camp Key 3 is in place, and registration is strong with week 1 52% booked and week 2 18% booked. Early Bird fee is valid until December 15th.

54% of our direct contact leaders are currently trained. We are working to provide more opportunities for face to face training. We need to build a quality training team to accomplish this. If interested please reach out to Dan Rogers.
