Stem/Nova

STEM NOVA Volunteers Needed

The Georgia Carolina Council is forming a STEM/NOVA committee chaired by Mack Rhoden. We are looking for volunteers in all three districts to work as Committee Members, Supernova Mentors, and NOVA Counselors.

A Supernova Awards mentor must be age 21 or older and be a subject matter expert in a STEM (science, technology, engineering, or mathematics) field. This person will mentor Scouts working on their Supernova awards.

A Nova Awards counselor must be age 21 or older. The counselor does not need to be a subject matter expert; the counselor need only have an interest in STEM.

The Committee members will be Supernova Mentors willing to train new Supernova Mentors and Nova Counselors in their respective district. The committee will also meet once per month to review Supernova applications and develop STEM programs for the Georgia Carolina Council.
