Insurance Coverage for Scouting Membership

Families with Peach State Health Plan or Amerigroup insurance may qualify to have their child’s Scouting registration fees partially or fully covered. This program helps make Scouting more accessible to every youth who wants to join.

Below you’ll find step-by-step instructions for each provider.

Peach State Health Plan

Peach State will pay the full registration fee for each covered youth member who meets the eligibility requirements.

Eligibility Requirements:

• The Scout must be a Peach State member.

• The Scout must have:

  • A well check-up with their primary care physician

  • A dental exam within the past 12 months

  • For youth ages 9 and older: the HPV vaccination

How to Apply:

1. Complete a paper Scouting America youth application.

2. Request a voucher number from Peach State:

   • Call the number on the back of your Peach State member card, or

   • Complete the online request form at:
     Peach State Healthy Children Programs

3. Scroll to “Choose the After School Program” and select Scouting America Membership.

4. Fill out and submit the form.

5. If all requirements are met, Peach State will email the voucher to the parent within 30 days.

6. Once received, contact Amber Meador or Jamie Aycox at the Georgia-Carolina Council office (706-733-5277) and provide:

   • The voucher number (starts with PSHP)

   • The paper application

The council will submit your information to Peach State for payment, and your youth will be registered once payment is received (typically within 30 days).

Amerigroup

Amerigroup offers a $100 Youth Club Membership Card to help pay for Scouting registration fees.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Members ages 6–18

• Must have a completed annual well check

• One card per member, per year

How to Apply:

1. Log in to the Amerigroup Member Portal at
   https://member.amerigroup.com/public/login

2. Go to the Benefit Rewards Hub.

3. Select Youth Club Membership Card – if eligible.

4. If you need assistance, call Member Services at 1-800-600-4441 (TTY 711), Monday–Friday, 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. ET.

6. Once you receive your Youth Club Membership Card, bring it with your paper Scouting application to:

Important:

• Scouting America youth registration is $125.

• Amerigroup covers $100, and families will need to pay the remaining $25 at registration.
