Why Scouting

The Georgia Carolina Council would like to thank you and your family for seeking a Scouting in the extended CSRA.  Scouting is where they will learn positive values, new skills and have fun with friends. This page describes the variety of opportunities for you to sign your child up for Scouting. 

Cub Scouting (grades K-5): Cub Scouting is fun for the whole family. In Scouting, boys and girls start with their best right now selves and grow into their very best future selves. It’s fun, hands-on learning and achievement that puts kids in the middle of the action and prepares them for today – and for life. Click to find a pack.

Scouts BSA (11* - 17 years old): Scouts BSA is the traditional Scouting experience for youth in the fifth grade through high school. Service, community engagement and leadership development become increasingly important parts of the program as youth lead their own activities and work their way toward earning Scouting’s highest rank, Eagle Scout. Click to find a troop.

*Youth who are 10 years old, currently enrolled in 5th grade, may register after March 1

Venturing (Co-ed 14 - 20 years old): Venturing is a youth-lead program for males and females aged 41-21 (or 13 and completed 8th grade). Working with trained adult volenteers, the youth schedule a plan their activities and events. Click for more information. Click to find a crew.

Sea Scouts (Co-ed 14 - 20 years old): For over 100 years Sea Scouting has promoted better citizenship and improved members’ boating skills through instruction and practice in water safety, boating skills, outdoor, social, service experiences, and knowledge of our maritime heritage. Click for more information.   • Enter your zip code
  • Select the program, Cub Scout, Scouts BSA, Venturing, or Sea Scouts
  • Click Find and Apply and you will see a list of units within your area
  • Select a unit the is nearest to you or meets on a day convenient to you
  • Click Apply Now and set your login information
  • Enter all the information for the application
  • Payment can be completed by credit card
  • You will receive a confirmation email withing 24 hrs.
