Wood Badge SR-1018 a success!
48 scouters participated in two weekends of LEADERSHIP training to complete the first phase of their Wood Badge training.
48 participants and 25 staff members came together to form Troop 1 of Gilwell for the Georgia-Carolina Council's SR-1018 Wood Badge course. The first weekend took place March 26-28 at Smart Family Enterprises in Plum Branch, SC. The second weekend was conducted April 16-18 at Robert E. Knox Scout Reservation. Over these two weekends the five themes of Wood Badge were explored and practiced to complete the first phase of the Wood Badge training. Over the course of the next 18 months, participants will have the opportunity to to take what they have learned and provide leadership to various programs and activities at the unit, district and council level so they can complete their Wood Badge training and achieve their Wood Badge recognition. But more importantly...so they can help provide a quality program and experience for the youth we serve in Scouting. THANK YOU to the participants and staff of SR-1018 for a great experience for all! If you are interested in participating in Wood Badge, the Indian Waters Council (Columbia, SC) will host a course next Spring. The next course hosted by the Georgia-Carolina Council is scheduled for Spring, 2012 under the leadership of Course Director Doug Massey, Jr. |
Thank You Danny Kuhlmann!
