Philmont 2009

Attention Boy Scouts and Venturers! Here is a chance to participate in a great High Adventure experience!

Philmont Scout Ranch is the Boy Scouts of America's oldest national high-adventure base. It covers 137,000 acres - about 214 square miles - of rugged mountain wilderness in the Sangre de Cristo (Blood of Christ) range of the Rocky Mountains in northern New Mexico.

Thirty-four staffed camps and 55 trail camps are operated by the ranch. Philmont has high mountains dominating rough terrain with elevations ranging from 6,500 to 12,441 feet.

The Georgia-Carolina Council will have 2 Crews (12 people per crew) participate in a backpacking adventure at Philmont June 10-22, 2009.  The council is now accepting applications and deposits for youth interested in this once-in-a-lifetime experience.

If interested, please find further details in the flyer below.  All applications are due to the council service center with a $100 deposit by July 1, 2008.
