2011 Kiokee District Fall Camporee

The 2011 Kiokee District Fall Camporee was held Oct 7-9; many of the district’s troops participated in the Camporee and all had a great experience. The scouts were challenged to show their mastery of scout skills by competing in a variety of ‘Old School’ games. Units also participated in the first ever KSR Catapult Challenge. Units used pioneering skills, engineering talent, teamwork and innovation to build catapults to launch biodegradable projectiles off the hill by the Swell Center into the ball fields. The Saturday evening campfire had lots of fun & laughs and ended with an emotionally moving flag retirement in honor of all the Military members and First Responders who were present that evening. Troop 615 which hosted the event wants to extend a heartfelt thank you to ALL the volunteers who came together to make the camporee the success it was. “If scouting is a game, it should be a game with a purpose.” BP
