Attention ALL Volunteers...you don't want to miss this...
University of Scouting is the LARGEST one-day training event held in our council each year. This year, there are 88 different training sessions being offered. There is something for everyone...new leaders or "experienced" leaders...Cub Scout leaders, Boy Scout leaders, Venture leaders and even Commissioners! You pick the sessions you want to attend that you feel will provide you the most benefit in your role in Scouting. Please refer to the 2010 U of S Guide link below to download all the information you need to know including training session descriptions and the registration form (last page in guide). A few highlights... When: Saturday, January 23, 2010. Check-in will begin at 7am with the U of S running from 8am - 4pm Where: Greenbrier High School in Evans...directions in guide. Cost: If registered by December 23, it is only $15...a great deal! If you register between December 24 and January 15, the cost rises to $20. If you register at the door the day of the event, the cost is $25. PLEASE help us to properly plan for this event...preregister and save some money too! This fee includes morning coffee & doughnuts, lunch, patch and session materials. Overview of Schedule: Doors open for check-in at 7:00am. The Opening Ceremony will begin at 8:00am. Morning sessions will run from 8:30am - 11:30am. Lunch will be from 11:30am - 12:30pm. Afternoon sessions will run from 12:30pm - 3:30 pm. The Closing Ceremony will be at 3:30pm with the day wrapping up at 4:00pm. Also, returning this year, is the Junior Leader College. Troop leaders...encourage your junior leaders (or soon to be junior leaders) to attend. Youth will need a signature from their Scoutmaster as an approval of their participation in the Junior Leader College...please insure the scouts that you approve to participate that they know they will be representing your Troop and need to exhibit appropriate scout behavior. Special thanks to 2010 University of Scouting Chancellor Suellen Cermenaro and all of the College Deans for their leadership in organizing this event. We look forward to seeing everyone on January 23! |
Thank You Danny Kuhlmann!
