2010 Gathering of Eagles
Distinguished Eagle Scout and Medal of Honor recipient Leo Thorsness joined us on Saturday, November 6.
17 Eagle Scouts from across the council participated in our annual Gathering of Eagles. Two of the Eagles present earned their award in 1943, while two others were from the Class of 2010. Our featured speaker, Leo Thorsness, shared stories of his time as a POW in the Hanoi Hilton during the Vietnam War as well as his memories of scouting, including becoming an Eagle Scout. We thank Col. Thorsness for his service to our country and for giving of his time to the Georgia-Carolina Council. |
